He specialises in commercial litigation, with a focus on commodities and shipping disputes and all aspects physical trading. He has over three decades of experience. He has acted in over 40 reported cases, including victories in the Supreme Court of England and India, and is part of the team whose matters led to HFW being recognised by The Lawyer’s Tracker as the most active firm for commercial litigation in the English Commercial Court, where he ranks second for the highest number of cases. Brian has been involved with and has managed cross border litigation across jurisdictions including India, Iran, the Middle East, the Far East, North America, and Europe. He is a regular speaker on the international stage and is a trusted advisor to global companies. She leads a team of legal, compliance and sustainability professionals supporting an international educational and research publishing and assessments business. She also has responsibility for sustainability, community engagement and brand, as well as being heavily involved with AI governance. She is a board director for the Copyright Clearance Center, is on the Law Society’s Climate Change Working Group and a member of Anglia Ruskin University’s Legal Advisory Board.

David is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Florida College of Law where he teaches International In-House Legal Leadership. Before joining LawVu, David spent 10 years building and leading the eBay Classifieds Group Legal Team; rising to VP, Global Head of Legal and a member of the Executive Leadership Team. eBay Classifieds Group had over $1bil revenue and operated market leading online classifieds businesses in 11+ jurisdictions globally, head-quartered in Amsterdam. David and his team of 25 professionals successfully facilitated the $9.2bil sale of the eBay Classifieds business in 2021. David passed the bar in Florida before heading to London where his first role was General Counsel of a Dotcom online payments/encryption start-up. He trained as a solicitor at Baker & McKenzie in the IT & IP Department and was then General Counsel of QVC UK for almost 5 years. He then worked at both Discovery Networks Europe and Amazon UK before moving to California and working for eBay. David is an alumnus of the University of Florida (both undergrad and College of Law) where he participated in the exchange program with the University of Leiden in the Netherlands. He is a member of the FL, NY and CA Bar and is an English Solicitor. He also holds an LLM from the University of London in Communications and Technology Law. David is based in Los Gatos, California and Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.

He was previously General Counsel at ComplyAdvantage and previously WorldRemit, where he was the company’s first lawyer and created the Legal function from scratch. Before that, Sam worked at Barclays as a VP Legal Counsel in Operations & Technology Legal (with a secondment to Customer Experience), and started his career as a Technology M&A lawyer.
